Early Days

Raven Goodwin began her career as an actress in 2001. Her debut role was in the film Lovely & Amazing as Annie Marks which earned her a Black Reel Award nomination. Following her breakthrough role she starred in the film The Station Agent (2003), Phat Girlz (2006), guest appearances in the TV series Malcolm in the Middle, Strong Medicine and Everybody Hates Chris, and the main role in Just Jordan, which ran for two seasons.

Over the years Goodwin has starred in the films All About Us (2007), My Genie (2008), and Snatched (2017). She has landed the main role in the TV series Huge (2010), Being Mary Jane (2013-2019), and recurring roles in Good Luck Charlie (2010-2014), SMILF (2017-2019), and TV films Christmas Belles (2019) and Lifetime’s The Clark Sisters: The First Ladies of Gospel (2020).
